Located on the hills of San Simeon Hearst Castle was built as luxury bunglaw/home for Mr.Hearst.
When it was built this castle featured 56 bedrooms, 61 bathrooms, 19 sitting rooms, 127 acres (0.5 km2) of gardens, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, tennis courts, a movie theater, an airfield, and the world’s largest private zoo!!.Though the guided tour doesn’t show you all the rooms,it includes dining area, a hall,2-3 bedrooms and swimming pools. You can see pictures of Mr.Hearst and his grandkids feeding animals in their own private zoo. There is also a video display of Mr.Hearst and his family, how he spent his time in this castle are shown in his own private theatre.

Visitors are welcomed by a grand outdoor swimming pool which is in ancient Roman style.Check out the tiles used inside the pool.

The dutch windmill that you can see in the picture is on the northwest corner of the golden gate park.It was built in 1903 to pump water from underground for irrigating purpose of the park. The mill is no longer in use.A garden was built around it and was named after the Dutch Queen Wilhelmina.
March/April good time to see the Tulips here.
