Ingredients :
Bombay Rava – 1 cup
Ghee – 1 cup
Milk – 1 cup
Jaggery – 1.5 cup
Add rava and ghee in a heavy bottomed tawa and fry in a low flame till it turns in to golden brown in color.
Add jaggery and milk and boil it slowly.When the rava is cooked properly take it down from the stove.Allow it to cool for sometime.Healthy and easy recipe for kids.

Chooda avalakki is basically a north karntaka dish served as snack in the evenings.You can prepare it once and store in a air tight container.
Ingredients:
4 cups thin poha (Avalakki)
3/4 cup peanuts
3/4 cup whole split peas (hurgadle / puttani)
3/4 cup copra pieces (kobbari)
5-6 red chillies, crushed

8 tsp oil
1 tsp. turmeric powder
1 tsp. mustard seeds
1 tsp. red chilli powder
1 tbsp. sugar
10-12 curry leaves
1/2 tsp. asafoetida
Salt to taste
Method:
Before preparing chooda make sure that poha is crispy.So dry the poha in sunlight or heat for 2 minutes in stove so that it becomes crispy.
Heat oil in a pan add turmeric powder, mustard seeds. When mustards starts spluttering, add curry leaves,peanuts,split peas and fry till it becomes light brown.Add red chillies,dry coconut(grated) and fry for a while.

Add asafoetida, sugar, salt and mix well for 2 minutes.

Remove from the heat.Allow it to cool for sometime.Add the poha to it and mix well.Do not forget to cool the pan.If you add poha when its hot, poha will become hard.

Its winter time here.I love to eat spicy and crunchy things sitting at home
. Ambode (Masala Vadai) is one among my favorite. Its easy to prepare and doesn’t take much time also.


Ingredients :
Chana dal – 2 cups, soaked for 4-5 hours and drained
Green chillies – 6
Coriander – 1/2 cup (finely chopped)
Curry leaves – 8-10
Red chillies – 6
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
Method :
Grind chana dal in a food processor. Add little amount of water and make a coarse paste.Chop the green chillies,curry leaves,red chillies and mix with the dal paste.Add salt and coriander.Mix thoroughly.
Take small amount of the dough and shape the ambode (vada) by patting it on ur palm.Deep fry the ambodes (vadas) till it turns in to golden brown color.

Pav Bhaji is a popular street food specially in Mumbai.This food is native to Maharashtrians.Pav means bread in marathi and bhaji is a vegetarian curry.They sell this on hand carts popularly known as Pav bhaji chi Gaadi.
People enjoy eating this any time any where!.
Ingredients :
For bhaji:
Onions – 1 cup (chopped)
Tomatoes – 1 cup (chopped)
Gobi – 1/2 cup (chopped)
Aloo – 2 medium sized
Mutter – 1/2 cup
Pav bhaji Masala Powder ( I bought MDH masala powder)
Salt to taste
Oil – 2 tsp
Cilantro – 1/4 cup ( finely chopped)
Pav – 4 pieces
Butter – 2 tsp

Boil all the vegetables in a pressure cooker with little salt.Cook it for 3 whistles.It should be boiled in such a way that should be able to mash them easily.
In a pan,add oil , add the cooked vegetables, masala powder and salt.Mash it with little water.Cook it for 10-15 minutes.
Mean time roast the pavs with butter on a tava.Garnish the bhaji with cilantro and serve with pavs.
