We belong to Kalluraya Family.Dad says because of Kallur Mahalakshmi we got that name and some of our ancestors might had been worshiping there years back. Not sure but we always make it a point to go to this temple when ever we visit Mantralaya.
Kallur Mahalakshmi Temple which is in Manvi Taluk is around 20 kms from Raichur.Kallur is also called as second Kollaphur where Goddess Mahalakshmi dwells.The temple has statues of both Lord Venkateshwara and Mahalakshmi.

When ever we go to Mantralaya, we will try to visit Hampi also.Its around 150kms from Mantralaya.
You would need complete 3 days to visit whole Hampi.There are good accommodations available in hospet which is around 12km form hampi.Summers would be very bad here. August – January is the best time to visit Hampi.
Hampi, the capital city of Vijayanagara Empire, was founded by two brothers Harihara and Bukkaraya (more popularly known as Hakka and Bukka), under the guidance of their Guru Vidyaranya. The markets in Hampi were always crowded with merchants from all over the world to barter their goods in exchange of spices and cotton, grown abundantly in the area. Rubies, diamonds and all precious stones were sold on the streets in the scale of seers.
As the saying goes, everything that goes up must come down. It was true in case of Hampi also. After seeing its golden period, Hampi fell down to the attacks of the five Sultans of Deccan – Bidar, Bijapur, Golconda, Ahmednagar and Berar . The city was looted for a period of 6 months. The temples were destroyed and the markets were plundered. The golden empire had come to an end.

ಮತ್ತೆ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ವೀಕೆಂಡ್… ಈ ಸಲ ನಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಬೇಲೂರು ಹಳೇಬೀಡು ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಮಗಳೂರ್ ಕಡೆಗೆ.ಅದರಂತೆ ಶನಿವಾರ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 5 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಆರಂಭ. ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿಂದ ಸುಮಾರು 225 km ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಬೇಲೂರು ತಲುಪಿದಾಗ ಸಮಯ ಸುಮಾರು 10 30.

12 ನೆ ಶತಮಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಯ್ಸಳ ಸಾರ್ವಭೌಮ ವಿಷ್ಣುವರ್ಧನನಿಂದ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಈ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನ, ಹೊಯ್ಸಳರ ಶಿಲ್ಪ ಕಲಾ ನಿಪುಣತೆಗೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿದೆ.ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ಮುಂದೆ ಮಹಾ ಗೋಪುರವಿದೆ , ಗರ್ಭಗುಡಿಯ ಗೋಡೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು 42 ಮದನಿಕೆಯರನ್ನು ( ಶಿಲಾ ಬಾಲಿಕೆಯರನ್ನು) ಕಾಣಬಹುದು.

ಒಂದೊಂದು ಕೆತ್ತನೆ ಕೂಡ ಬೇರೆ ಬೇರೆ ನೃತ್ಯ ಭಂಗಿಗಳನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ವಿಷ್ಣುವರ್ಧನ ರಾಣಿ ಶಾಂತಲೆಯ ನೃತ್ಯವೇ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಸ್ಫೂರ್ತಿ ಎನ್ನ ಬಹುದು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ವೀರನಾರಾಯಣ ಮತ್ತು ಚೆನ್ನಿಗರಾಯ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನಗಳು ಇಲ್ಲಿವೆ.
ಬೇಲೂರಿನಿಂದ ಸುಮಾರು 16km ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಹಳೆ ಬೀಡು ಹೊಯ್ಸಳರ ರಾಜಧಾನಿಯಾಗಿತ್ತು.ಕಲ್ಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಡೆದ ಹೊಯ್ಸಳೇಶ್ವರ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ಗರ್ಭಗುಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿವಲಿಂಗವಿದೆ.ಮುಂದೆ ಬೃಹದಾಕಾರದ ನಂದಿಯನ್ನು ಕೆತ್ತಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಎರಡೂ ದೇವಾಲಯಗಳು ನೋಡತಕ್ಕ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಶಿಲ್ಪ ಕಲಾ ತಾಣಗಳು. ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ನೋಟಕ್ಕೆ ನಮಗೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲ ಶಿಲ್ಪ ಕಲಾ ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮಗಳು ಅರಿವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಗೈಡ್ ಗಳ ಸಹಾಯ ಪಡೆಯುವುದು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದು.
ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಚಿಕ್ಕಮಗಳೂರು ತಲುಪಿದಾಗ ರಾತ್ರಿ 8 ಗಂಟೆ. ಚಿಕ್ಕಮಗಳೂರಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ವಾಸ್ತವ್ಯ ಹೂಡಿದ್ದು ಒಂದು ಹೋಂ ಸ್ಟೇನಲ್ಲಿ. woodway homestay ಹೆಸರೇ ಹೇಳುವಂತೆ ಸುತ್ತಲು ಮರಗಳು , ಹಸಿರು.
