Neeru Dose means watery dosa in kannada. The batter prepared is very watery and thin hence the name. Its a Mangalorean cuisine and mainly served for breakfast with coconut chutney.

Ingredients :
Rice – 2 cups (I used Idly rice)
Salt – to taste
Jeera – 2 spoons
Soak the rice in water for 1 hour.Grind it in to a smooth paste and make a very thin batter by adding sufficient water.Add salt and jeera.Heat the tava and sprinkle the batter as shown in the picture. You can’t put it as regular dosa batter as batter would be very watery.

Put little oil and cover with lid.Serve dosa with spicy chutney.

Few photos which I clicked in farmers market.

Farmers markets here are similar to what we call as Sante/Santi in India. The market would sell varieties of farm fresh organic products like vegetables, flowers, fruits, meat, breads almost everything. You can also taste some fresh coffee, cakes in the market.

(Colorful peppers)
Back in India I would never prefer to go to Sante as it would be a very crowded place.People sell every thing in open market and they do not bother to keep it clean. We need to do shopping in between the garbage. Here its a nice experience of shopping.Sometimes you can also see top chefs of star hotels doing shopping here.

You can enjoy bit of music also

Most of the markets weould be open in weekends between 9AM -1PM.

Muir Woods is a forest of ancient, giant redwoods. We wanted to go for a trail near by and this was the best advised by everyone.Deep inside the woods there are short and long trails overlooking trees, beaches etc.
As it was first time we took the smallest trail about 1.5 miles which goes inside the redwoods.
Though there were plenty of redwoods forests throughout the country, only few survived.By the early 20th century, most of these forests had been cut down.Only this place remained due to its relative inaccessibility.
In 1908,it was declared as the National Monument.

The main attraction here is the Coast Redwood which are scientifically known as Sequoia sempervirens.Average
height of these woods are around 70-100m!.The average age of the redwoods in the Monument are between 500 and 800 years old with the oldest being at least 1,200 years old!!.

Below picture shows the age rings of the giant redwood.

Muir Woods are part of the National Park System and here there is no permission for camping, lodging etc.The place has gift shop, snack bar and rest rooms.Parking is bit of a problem here during weekends.
