The Vishnu sahasranama is a list of 1,000 names of Lord Vishnu. The Vishnu sahasranama as found in the Mahabharata is the most popular version of the 1000 names of Vishnu.
During the battle of Kurukshetra,Yudhisthira asks Bheeshma who is the supreme god to all and who is the one divinity by worshiping him a man attains good? Then Bheeshma answers him by stating that Vishnu is the supreme god of whole universe and by chanting 1000 names of Lord Vishnu you can attain the prosperity in life.
Its believed that person who hears the names every day or who recites them every day, never meets with any evil either here or hereafter and will have their desires fulfilled.
I personally believe that chanting Vishnu SahasraNamam gives good health, happiness and peace in life.
I have uploaded the MP3 file of MS Subbalakshmi which I downloaded from internet.Original size was 13.5MB I have resized it to 3.9MB so that I can attach it here.
